Quite right. I corrected my post above where I said there weren’t any internment camps for Germans in WW2 (I removed my factual error so I don’t lead anyone astray). The Alien Enemies Act was part of the Alien and Seditions Acts of 1798. Of course there was a racial bias involved in the internment of as many Japanese Americans as possible while treating German Americans on an individual basis.
Thank you for this. This is exactly how I feel about politics. People get so worked up over it, and it’s the least important thing in the world. Prayer is what we should all be focused on. We could vote for pro-life candidates for the next thousand years and it wouldn’t make a bit of difference. Only the grace of God will change the hearts and minds of those who are opposed to the Faith. The rosary, a novena, perpetual adoration…this is how we should be proceeding. May God hear our prayers and bless our endeavors. It’s rare in politics to find someone who declines to be personally abusive to opponents .
In politics people say nasty things about each other .
If the opposing party says or does something it’s normal to find fault with it .
Poiltics isn’t important .
It isn’t worth arguing about .
When I was younger I expected so much from politics and took a great interest in them .
Now I realise that in reality politicians are able to do very little .
I tend to give them a wide berth now .
In fact in the last two General Elections I haven’t even voted , not because I am apathetic or lazy , but because I have come to realise that the politicians seeking my vote do not represent my views , and it was time I was honest with myself and admitted it .
Politicians start wars, legalize abortion, write regulations that save lives or maybe close businesses. Now I realise that in reality politicians are able to do very little .
Theo520:
Its not the presence of Detention Centers, its the ripping apart of families. Here is a great example of liberal media misrepresenting the facts to try take the moral high ground
The comment above is a great example of an unabashed Trump apologist rationalizing the administrations evil policy of separating families…there is no justification or defense for this undeniable atrocity.
Listen to Cardinal Dolan…he has spoken, and to ignore his thoughts on the subject show how the Gospel has been put second to politics.
Sad!
EWTN has a Catholic bias. The rest of media (except the evening Fox News commentators) - yes, I’m including the Fox News daytime REPORTERS - are typically liberals. On another thread, supposed PBS is biased to the left. Why wouldn’t ewtn be biased?
The dictionary says that a concentration camp is, “A prison camp in which political dissidents, members of minority ethnic groups, etc. are confined.” Isn’t that what happened to Japanese Americans? They were incarcerated in prison camps because they were a member of a minority ethnic or racial group. Do you say that the camp at jasenovac was an internment camp or a concentration camp ?They were not concentration camps in the sense of the Nazi extermination camps, nor even Nazi labor camps. They were internment camps,
In 2016, he said he was delaying because he was under an audit. But this audit has lasted for quite a long time..im still waiting when is he going to release his tax returns.
“It’s a grim scene,” he told the Catholic Sentinel. “The first room I was in had a variety of fencing. They look like big cages. People were upset. All they had was their clothing and space blankets.”
Further in, he found himself in a big warehouse with even bigger fenced-in enclosures. In this room, children had been separated from their parents and grouped with other children of the same sex.
It seems like it was much worse under Obama where children were put in cages. The problem with MSNBC is that they pretend this wasn’t going on during Obama.
