Asylum seekers are not the same as refugees. Many of those who have had their children taken away seek asylum. Seeking asylum is a legal way to immigrate.

And those crossing the border should do so at a legal port of entry where they will be allowed in.

That’s what they do best. That, and protect their own sorry behinds.

When there is no distinction between the gang and the government? If this situation doesn’t qualify for asylum, perhaps nothing does.
When is there ever a distinction? Both claim to offer you protection in exchange for a fee. If you don’t want their protection they do to you what the people they would protect your from would do. Both fight for territory that they alone control.

It’s a pity there couldn’t be some sort of reciprocal agreement between the US and Mexican governments whereby both countries would control “and enforce” the borders…workers from Mexico would be issued a temporary work visa to work in the US…on an “as needed” ad hoc basis…at the same time Americans wishing to start a business in Mexico would be encouraged to do so ( creating jobs for Mexicans) by the Mexican government…the US and Mexican governments should also have an agreement whereby the US military…in conjunction with the Mexican military…co-ordinate a strategy to wipe out drug cartels in Mexico…surely co-operation between neighbors can be more beneficial (and Christian) than confrontation…all it takes is a bit of humility on both sides to admit we both have a problem that needs fixing.

You mean like all of these that are issued by our government now? You are likely talking about the H2A and H2B visas. These visas are what agriculture, service and entertainment (you would not have a carnival come to your town anymore without the H2B visa program).

There is a whole 'nother issue related to treatment of these migrant workers.

EWTN has a Catholic bias
Back during the last election, EWTN lost me as a viewer when they demonstrated a bias for one political party. Sad, but, I do understand that they do not want to upset their large donors.
EWTN does not have a bias TOWARDS one party. They have a bias AGAINST the party that has abortion (and other moral evils) written directly into their party platform documents.

EWTN is not a Republican Party network. They are a Catholic Network.

They are against the party that booed God at the national convention.

I have never heard EWTN unapologeticly defend the Republican Party, when Republicans are outside Church teaching.

The difference between the Republican & Democratic Party platforms is this:
  1. When the Democrats go against Catholic teaching, it’s not just immoral, it also goes against Catholic Dogma.
  2. When the Republican go against Church teaching it’s often a matter of prudential judgment more than immoral. But the Republicans have never supported positions that are against Catholic Dogma.

Bishop: Deny Communion to Border Agents.
I don;t think that all border agents should be excommunicated. Should pharmacists and cashier clerks be excommunicated for selling birth control pills which could be abortifacient? Do they excommunicate nancy pelosi and joe biden ?

I agree with you. If they excommunicate boarder agents, then they better excommunicate Nancy, Joe, Tim Kaine, etc

EWTN isn’t on my cable selection, but I know a little bit about them.

They are a religious based broadcaster.

One political party actually booed Almighty God during their convention, I can see where they might be put off by that

Did you know that there are more than two political parties in the US?

Yes. But I fail to understand your point. I said EWTN does NOT have a bias TOWARDS any particular party. I said that they have a bias AGAINST a particular party.

During the 2016 election, EWTNs “Morning Glory” program cancelled an interview with a 3rd party candidate (who is a practicing pro-life Catholic), yet, interviewed DJT.
