Looking at objectively from North of the Border, neither side appears to have convinced a single CAF member to switch sides.
No, but I have been convinced to lay off, for the most part, characterizations of the various political players in grandiose terms. It’s doesn’t advance any conversation to just say, "Oh, yeah, well my guy never did that".

That probably surprises people, since I’m more than likely seen as very partisan here. But, I really am listening, and toning down my responses. This close to the election, I’ve got more and more people on ignore, just to keep the temptation down.

Do go on pretending Trump has never done any of that too, though.
Only after:
In a widely watched test of his presidential mien, Trump comforted victims and thanked volunteers and first responders after being criticized earlier in the week for not showing sufficient empathy to Texas residents during catastrophic flooding.
Which begs would have he gone to Texas if there was not so much negative press about his lack of empathy.

We can ask that sort of question about any politician. Either all of their actions count, or none of them do. Which is it?

@Victoria33 . . . & anyone else who knows how to post articles . . .

There is a tape of a jubilant Biden bragging about his quid pro quo threat to Ukraine. I don’t know enough about searching and how to post an article here, but will someone please find it and post it? Given how information is consistently squashed, though, it may have been hidden by now.

I believe that all of this articles alleged offenses are just small potatoes. In my opinion, Mr. Trumps real crime is the premeditated murder of the Iranian General and diplomat, Qasem Soleimani.

Note that five Iraqis were killed as well. Allegations have been made that Soleimani had enabled road-side IED attacks against US troops. My question, if so, is: “Where was the indictment and arrest warrant?” Even Saddam Hussain received arrest and a trial, and US troops were sent to arrest ben Laden in Pakistan (who was killed as a result of his resistance by force.) Soleimani had been operating in Iraq for many years right under the noses of US generals and was never molested or indicted.

You mean killing someone who was active in coordinating attacks that led to the death or wounding of our soldiers? Sorry, he was an enemy combatant and a legal target. Had Trump had him shot on the street in Paris or taken out by a drone in Iran, it would have been a slightly different story. In the immortal words of Darth Vader to Princess Leia, “You weren’t on any mercy mission this time.”

NICE… Likening Donald Trump to Darth Vader.

I thought it the comparison was apt. We are not at war with Iran. Had a foreign power assassinated an American general then we would have a look at our actions through the lens of the Golden Rule.

We are fighting terrorists in Iraq. An Iranian general operating with those terrorists in Iraq is an enemy combatant.

That allegation is akin to former President Bush’s allegation of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. It is not proven. The other side of the story (yes, there is one) is that General Soleimani, who had been operating in Iraq for many years, saved Baghdad from being overrun by ISIS, and that it was Sunni militias who carried out the roadside IED attacks on US troops. Iranians are Shiite and do not support or control the Sunnis.

If the USA had valid allegations against the General, why wasn’t he arrested? The US has troops in Iraq; no need for a hazardous nighttime helicopter assault such as the one that took down ben Laden. Even Saddam Hussain received the benefit of a trial, and ben Laden was offered the opportunity to surrender and face trial.

This assassination looks very much like premeditated murder to me, and what about the Iraqi government officials who were also killed?

Not commenting on whether Soleimani deserved it or not.

But I think it’s important to add in, is that he’s basically seen as the developer of very lethal IED (improvised explosive devices) that reportedly killed Americans and hence, the reason we went after him.

Or this and I don’t vouch for the accuracy of this, I know it is said:

I’ve never known whether I actually believe this or not. At least, that many.
