I did.
Arkansan only joined like three days ago. Pretty fast to get a fan who screams his praises on CAF.

And it wasn’t nice of you to disparage DaddyGirl’s screen name.

Then the terrifying DISTORTION, in the name of freedom, inculturation, openness, gender equality, giving the worst sinner the front seat, etc, etc.
Wouldn’t it make more sense for the worst sinner to sit in the front seat?
But I questioned my faith in my early 20’s and I still have some questions today. You have to work those issues out, I get that.
This happened to me too, but it was because I found the catechism so watered down. It took my Baptist bretheren to make me understand what it meant to be a disciple of Christ. I think our young people are not sufficiently challenged. Unless a person can grasp something worth dying for, one will not have anything worth living for either.

Liked it?

In a single day he managed to answer an invaluable question, in pure and sound Thomistic approach, I had been unable to solve for years (to which long-term CAF members were giving lies as answers).
disparage DaddyGirl’s screen name
I didn’t disparage, regrettably that double sense is ubiquitous these days. (In full context, with the other composite nouns - hitting a young boy with mentioned nouns hits him in his most inner-self with indescribable violence - a grown up should know better than a youngster how to deal with that.) And I’m sincerely sorry if I wasn’t nice. It was a “reflexive” exercise for mutual-edification, the aforementioned 50 altar boys would equally(perhaps more) feel offended in their manhood - movies and music these days associate lust to every word/expression they can, a despicable trend paralleling the classic anthropological division of words by genders through association like wet/dry, sun/earth, and so on…

And my answer is one of the main reasons and struggles boys face when stopping to attend mass…

I am writing to you, YOUNG MEN, because you have conquered the evil one.
I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning.
I write to you, YOUNG MEN, because you are strong and the word of God remains in you, and you have conquered the evil one.

the search of this shows why on site for catholic bibles in the Bible.

don’t they feel strong and have conquered the evil of world?
political says no evil anymore, all words happy smiles.
all problems your fault no stick together, all about cake not bread

Boys and girls do often go through a phase where they stop wanting to mix so maybe there is an element of ewwww girls.
That one hits right at the age where they begin to be allowed to altar serve. Now there are boys and girls in the sacristy, getting ready to altar serve. It seems, in my Parish, to be a deterrent for boys. We have more female altar servers in our Catholic elementary and middle school than we do boys. I wonder if it is related. There could be more to it than that. But it does make you wonder.

I always thought that being an altar server was a good time to introduce boys to the priesthood, and the possibility of God calling them to a vocation. It can’t be that with girls and boys, obviously. And there is no new program to facilitate that for boys in its place.

There are also low expectations in general with church, when I was 21 and questioned why the Catholic church doesn’t do anything for people my age I was told a. They don’t usually bother as people like you don’t tend to stick around, b. It’s normal for people to stop going to church and then come back to get married.
That’s a very upsetting thing to read and not a great way of doing things.

I actually find this thread humorous.
For any Catholic, male or female, participating in this thread, fill in the blank if this applies to you:

“I no longer go to Church because of ____.”

Whatever you fill in, you are in error. Your first duty is to worship God in the way he has commanded us to worship him. The ONLY exception is a disability so extreme that you cannot go to Church.

How is the Mass aimed at a group, as demarcated by sexual differentiation?
I’m not familiar with that theology.

So, you’re telling me I am to defy the courts and my ex-wife’s wishes and take my kids to mass anyway?

I have been given dispensation by the priest to not attend mass because of my situation. He realizes that defying the court order means that I could lose the visitation that I have established with my kids.

My dear friend;

You ARE literally playing with FIRE [HELL]

GOD has not the slightest interest in your OPINION when it contravenes His Own Will.

The Sunday Obligation is NOT an option, its a COMMAND.

You would be well advised to permit GOD to be in charge of your life. Eternity is FOREVER and you get to pick where you’ll spend it

Mass is NOT about what you like, or what makes YOU feel good; you ARE in the Divine Presence; and Mass is Godly Worship. THAT is why we are there; not to take notes on the congregation.

May GOD guide your path

Patrick

Sing-along-songs from the 60s, community engagement, filling up all the silences with some kind of chatter or singing, holding hands, chat-time to say hi to your neighbor… There are probably men that like the casual side of it, but I think men are generally more interested in formality, respect, austerity, solemnity, and tradition.

Coupled with the often-times milquetoast homilies and insulated ministerial “inner circles” with modern, hotel conference room churches and gentle, social-media sound bite clerical leadership, it’s all very warm and welcoming and effeminate. Obviously one can and should look beyond the trappings to see the Truth underneath, but it’s not hard to see why so many young men don’t take it seriously. As far as imaging and branding goes, it looks, feels, and sounds like a social club for women.

To presume to judge the Almighty, is the height of pride and arrogance.

I think a practical barrier for many is that parish work is typically done by retired people during the day. One of my male non-Catholic friends who stopped attending church did so because there was nothing for him to do.

Obviously we should all attend whatever for the Eucharist but not all young Catholics have reached that level of faith.
