I see no reason why the kid should have done any differently than he did. The man walked up to the kid and started beating his drum in the kids face. He wasn’t intervening; he was performing a political stunt. There is no reason why the kids should defer to him.

Look at the ~2hrs video account posted at TPM. You may see something else.
I watched that horrible video, with all the horrible language and anti-Catholicism and it wasn’t the kids attacking and saying vulgar things and it wasn’t the kids who marched over and got in the Native Americans face.
I can’t fathom why people are pouring so much energy to into trying to scrounge up any scrap of footage to try and make young men into villains.
I don’t get it either, especially from other Catholics.

It truly is ridiculous. They know that the Nathan Phillips story is a farce, so they are trying to find ANYTHING and everything to make these boys, or at least their school, look evil
Exactly. I think you are completely right.

Another out of context clip! First of all, do we know why they were yelling? Perhaps the girls filming said something before the camera was on? Also, do we even know these are Covington Catholic school boys?

Its nor rape if you enjoy it? What are you talking about? Those boys were yelling “maga” and other trump slogans

Good point. I’m having trouble thinking up a context where it would be okay to yell “It’s not rape if you enjoy it!”
Sorry, I have listened to the video you shared several times and I do not hear anything about rape. Why do you want to make these boys out to be so evil? I guess I am just wondering why you would be wanting to do that? Aren’t death threats on their lives already enough? Isn’t the fact that they can’t go to school now because of fear for their lives enough?

Can you tell me what she said to them as she passed by? Was there a conversation or something else that happened before? Who is she having video tape her? Why is she tired already? Was she engaging in a conversation with them and couldn’t convince them to believe the same as she, so got tired?

Was she belittling them because they were youth and had on MAGA hats?

Please point to how you know who these boys are and fill in all the missing details. Please.

It was actually student, not students, and I’m not sure how one student’s inappropriate comment excuses death threats against other Covington students, and their families from influential, adult members of the news and entertainment media.

It’s a little difficult to believe a twitter page that has been suspended from Twitter.

What is amazing is the changing of the accusations as time passes. At first they were accused of harassing and mocking a Native American, when that fell through the accusation changed to ‘Covington is racist’. When that failed a new accusation came out. The insistence on destroying these kids is pretty disgusting.

Yes, it is changing every few hours. You can’t nail them on harassing a Native American, so you tried calling them racists and that was false, now you came in with a new accusation that is probably also false.

Well this thread has certainly culled the credible posters for me. Lot of speculators who owe Covington Catholic an apology.

Nothing’s changed, more evidence of Covington’s culture is just coming out.
You do realize that this situation could happen to anybody, anywhere. Someone takes a video out of context, sends it to the internet and ruins your name. Because of this, I think it is extremely important to be sure and get ALL the facts before accusing and ruining someone’s name on the internet, especially on a Catholic forum.

I’m pretty comfortable no one is going to video me saying “It’s not rape if you enjoy it,” or performing racist caricatures of Native Americans.

First of all, I have not yet seen proof of the first accusation and from what I understand from others it was One boy, one comment and not sure what was said prior to him saying that but still not all all of them and the MSM itself has backtracked on the accusation of them being racist toward the Native Americans and have a large majority have apologized.

Then, my comment was just a reminder that it could be anything videotaped today and taken incorrectly and ruining another person’s life and as soon as something else gets videotaped somewhere, the focus will be on that but today this is the big story and so it is the thing to do right now.

Constant attacks taken out of context are what is giving Catholicism a bad name.

Death threats I guess are just not enough.

I didn’t try to nail them, I posted my opinions and backed them up with evidence. The school’s culture is depressingly common and gives Catholicism a bad name.
It does appear as though you are trying to nail them. The comments from this man’s Twitter account is not proof of anything because no where does he say that the same kids that did this to him were the same kids at the March for Life. Also, not trusting everything on the internet, this is not proof that what he is saying is true or completely true.

If what this man is saying on Twitter is true, it is truly sad. Today in our age of technology, sadly, cyber bullying is everywhere and bullying still exists at every school. It is not something that happens only at Catholic Covington. It is not something that just happens at Catholic schools. It is sadly everywhere and we all need to make sure we are not bullying someone in person or online and not unjustly saying something about someone without being sure it is absolutely, positively true. Also, just because something is true, doesn’t necessarily make it worth repeating.
