Recognizing negative content in something doesn’t make us OCD. Awareness is not OCD…

Oh, I agree, and that’s why I’m not saying watching them is a sin. But watching TV is an escape from reality, it should be enjoyable, and, to quote a blog entry I read online, shouldn’t make you want to take a shower or go to confession afterward. I can overlook a few immoral things, but at some point it gets too much. I agree that This Is Us is not as bad as some others. I might start the second season when it comes out on Netflix and see how far I get.

Jericho was an excellent show. Severely underrated and cancelled too soon.

F Troop was one of the best comedies to come out of America.
Where the heck are we?
That’s how we got the name of our native Indian tribe. The "Hecawe. 🙂
Too unPC these days?

Is there anything from the last twenty or thirty years or so that you would recommend? The vast majority of the TV programs I watch are either documentaries or sports, but it might be nice to have some entertainment options more recent than the 1950s or 60s, just in case. You never know. Nothing wrong with the classics, but I’d like to see something I haven’t already seen.

Mad Men was good, although with diminishing returns as the seasons went on.

Mad Men was terrible. The props were accurate but the behaviors portrayed were terrible.

That will be the case in any show or literature about flawed humans. Using the same logic, Madame Bovary was terrible because the behaviors portrayed were terrible.

There were things I didn’t like about the show, and I eventually gave up on it because I felt like the writers were hell bent on destroying physically or spiritually the characters I liked the most. My biggest problem with the show is that it spent too much time ‘toying with profundity,’ when in reality it ended up revealing itself to be closer to a glorified soap opera. But when it was good, I think it was a quality show and worth watching. You’re free to disagree of course!

That is the theme song, but redone in a very beautiful rendition. Thank you for posting this. It brought back some very nice memories for me of watching this show with my mom and also with my future husband. 🙂

My dad has recently gotten into scorpion and I have watched some episodes of it. It’s very PG-13, just a bunch of smart people working to save lives and are trying to be emotionally sensitive. Quite light hearted, nothing too deep or serious.

Vikings is a great show and has gotten better and better with every season.
