I’m pretty sure they know full well what capitalism is. Many of them have had first hand experience with it.

So you solution is draconian restrictions of free speech? I think notWell let’s start with getting corp money out of our electoral process shall we?
Via constitutional amendment making public financing of our elections mandatory?
Yanking the broadcasting licenses of any broadcaster that didn’t provide X amount of free broadcast time each election cycle as a requiste of keeping their license for profit any time an election isn’t being held?
SCOTUS needs to understand that equating money to free speech on behalf of corporate entities who have the vast majority of discretionary cash to spend comparatively assigns the majority of Americans to rule by multinational corporations.
You can’t dissolve the rights of the most vulnerable American citizens through “free trade” agreements for very much longer, and all facets of our govt need to realise that, particularly the SCOTUS scoundrels in DC.
Go OWS protesters exercising their American rights!

And yet the apologists for the system which caused these problems are telling them they are to blame.
Plus the level of mockerey and condescension toward the protestors expressed by the
same apologists reminds me of nothing so much as the contempt for the lower classes expressed by the French nobility just prior to the French Revolution. Now, I am no fan of the French Revolution, which I consider an unmitigated disaster, but the attitude of the nobility (like the attitude of today’s 1%) was contemptible.
Nice dodge! So you solution is draconian restrictions of free speech? I think not
My guess is that almost none of the students protesting have experienced any of these things.I’m pretty sure they know full well what capitalism is. Many of them have had first hand experience with it.

No, because the unions represent the sweating workers who actually do the work and produce the goods. It is the blood sucking wall street fatcats who should pay the price since they claim they want capitalism and free enterprise but when they are in trouble and facing bankruptcy, they are the first to ask Washington and the federal government for hundreds of billions of dollars to bail them out. And while they are getting federal tax money, they are giving themselves huge bonuses which they do not deserve. It is the worker who deserves a break. Workers have families to support. Why throw them out on the street and take their houses away by foreclosure, while at the same time giving million dollar bonuses to people who caused these problems in the first place? When do “handouts” become “stimulus”. For instance should the UAW “pay the price” for the billions used to prop up their pension funds?
We dont increase freedom by restricting it. It is none of your business what I do with my money. Public financing of elections would force me to fund indivuduals who ideas I find repulsive. No thanks.Nice dodge!
I said equating free speech to a corp’s ability to pay for their candidate’s election via media spending, should be illegal in the US.
The sooner the SCOTUS realises they are constitutionally bound to accept this fact, the less ridiculous and corrupt they will appear in our history of America textbooks in the future.

Your guess is wrong because many students are faced with the crushing debt of student loans. Further, it is not only students who are protesting these injustices. And these protests are worldwide and not restricted to the USA.My guess is that almost none of the students protesting have experienced any of these things.
I am not part of the 1% by any means, but I agree that these protesters are a joke. One who was interviewed said the he thought he should get a college education paid for by the rich. When asked why he didn’t think he should have to pay for his own college education he had no answer except, " I want a free college education." Well. I want a free car, and a house. These people don’t get it. They are spoiled, have no clue how the economy works - if they had spent the last few weeks looking for a job instead of sleeping in the streets - then they might be employed by now. Of course first they’d have to shower.I’m pretty sure they know full well what capitalism is. Many of them have had first hand experience with it.

How did they incur this crushing debt?Your guess is wrong because many students are faced with the crushing debt of student loans. Further, it is not only students who are protesting these injustices. And these protests are worldwide and not restricted to the USA.
Wall Street will fix things by more trading of paper back and forth and by giving themselves million dollar bonuses for ruining the American economy. Of course, they can’t do this on their own. They will need hundreds of billions of dollars of taxpayer money to help them out.How is Wall Street going to fix things for you and make everything better?
Then they should have gone a different route- maybe go to community college for a couple of years, get a job in the summer. Did you know that the going rate for picking apples in the orchards of eastern Washington is $150/day? Of course no self respecting spoiled white kid will stoop to that. They want it all paid for. They are spoiled. Get a job. Work. Pay for a year of college. Take a year off. Work. Save money. Do another year. etc. etc. That is how you do it.Your guess is wrong because many students are faced with the crushing debt of student loans. Further, it is not only students who are protesting these injustices. And these protests are worldwide and not restricted to the USA.
They incurred this crushing debt because they were born into poverty and their families were struggling to make ends meet. They had to sweat and toil for every penny. This is unlike the fatcats on wall street who give themselves million dollar bonuses with taxpayer money. How did they incur this crushing debt? .
I think it’s safe to say that the OWS proteters and I disagree with you.We dont increase freedom by restricting it. It is none of your business what I do with my money. Public financing of elections would force me to fund indivuduals who ideas I find repulsive. No thanks.
Where are people in dire poverty from NYC going to get the money for the airfare and hotel to stay in Washington? Are they supposed to commute back and forth while studying in school in NY?Did you know that the going rate for picking apples in the orchards of eastern Washington is $150/day?
The tea party movement were front and centre in protesting these kind of government stimulus packages that have led to trillions of dollars of debt, but in a more timely matter when this spending was being proposed.Wall Street will fix things by more trading of paper back and forth and by giving themselves million dollar bonuses for ruining the American economy. Of course, they can’t do this on their own. They will need hundreds of billions of dollars of taxpayer money to help them out.
LOL. Hotel? No, they would probably live in a tent while they’re picking the fruit. Airfare? How about riding the greyhound. And if they can’t afford to live/go to school in NYC, then they should get out! Go to a college in Nebraska or somewhere where the cost of living isn’t so high. Of course that all requires common sense and a desire to pay as you go - values that aren’t found among the spoiled protesters.Where are people in dire poverty from NYC going to get the money for the airfare and hotel to stay in Washington? Are they supposed to commute back and forth while studying in school in NY?
Year-round or only seasonably?Did you know that the going rate for picking apples in the orchards of eastern Washington is $150/day?
You will do well to toss the racist remark! Change “white” to “black” or “chinese” or “japanese” and re-read it.Of course no self respecting spoiled white kid will stoop to that.
