Well let’s start with getting corp money out of our electoral process shall we?
Via constitutional amendment making public financing of our elections mandatory?
Yanking the broadcasting licenses of any broadcaster that didn’t provide X amount of free broadcast time each election cycle as a requiste of keeping their license for profit any time an election isn’t being held?
SCOTUS needs to understand that equating money to free speech on behalf of corporate entities who have the vast majority of discretionary cash to spend comparatively assigns the majority of Americans to rule by multinational corporations.
You can’t dissolve the rights of the most vulnerable American citizens through “free trade” agreements for very much longer, and all facets of our govt need to realise that, particularly the SCOTUS scoundrels in DC.

Plus the level of mockerey and condescension toward the protestors expressed by the
same apologists reminds me of nothing so much as the contempt for the lower classes expressed by the French nobility just prior to the French Revolution. Now, I am no fan of the French Revolution, which I consider an unmitigated disaster, but the attitude of the nobility (like the attitude of today’s 1%) was contemptible.

I said equating free speech to a corp’s ability to pay for their candidate’s election via media spending, should be illegal in the US.
The sooner the SCOTUS realises they are constitutionally bound to accept this fact, the less ridiculous and corrupt they will appear in our history of America textbooks in the future.

No, because the unions represent the sweating workers who actually do the work and produce the goods. It is the blood sucking wall street fatcats who should pay the price since they claim they want capitalism and free enterprise but when they are in trouble and facing bankruptcy, they are the first to ask Washington and the federal government for hundreds of billions of dollars to bail them out. And while they are getting federal tax money, they are giving themselves huge bonuses which they do not deserve. It is the worker who deserves a break. Workers have families to support. Why throw them out on the street and take their houses away by foreclosure, while at the same time giving million dollar bonuses to people who caused these problems in the first place?When do “handouts” become “stimulus”. For instance should the UAW “pay the price” for the billions used to prop up their pension funds?

Your guess is wrong because many students are faced with the crushing debt of student loans. Further, it is not only students who are protesting these injustices. I am not part of the 1% by any means, but I agree that these protesters are a joke. One who was interviewed said the he thought he should get a college education paid for by the rich. When asked why he didn’t think he should have to pay for his own college education he had no answer except, " I want a free college education." Well. I want a free car, and a house. These people don’t get it. They are spoiled, have no clue how the economy works - if they had spent the last few weeks looking for a job instead of sleeping in the streets - then they might be employed by now. Other than that it seems that this would be just one more government expenditure with government again taking over another sector of the economy, this time taking over the funding of public expression of political information.
