I think you need more coffee 🙂
Yeah, yeah. 😛 But seriously, think about it. Shouldn’t they be called oppression fighters because they fight oppression or something of that nature? I don’t mean Iraq, but all throughout the 20th century when you heard about freedom fighters here, there, etc.

You were right in your original comment. So-called “freeedom fighters” like those who killed Ms. Sheehan’s son fight AGAINST freedom and for oppression and brutality.

They fight to be free from freedom. When you live in freedom you have to make decisions and are responsible for your own destiny and they want to be free of that responsibility.

At least she is consistant

“Now that we have decimated [Iraq], the borders are open, freedom fighters from other countries are going in, and have created more terrorism by going to an Islamic country,” Sheehan complained to CBS Newsman Mark Knoller.

By speaking those words, she has just spat on her son. She calls Terrorists Freedom Fighters, and our Troops, HER SON, Terrorists. She has no shame!  :banghead: :whacky:

We don’t either. We save money by making our own and sending the profit to help others. Really help others…Like the unborn, the homeless, things much too mundane for the likes of Ben and Jerry.
Great minds think alike! I make my own too - when I have time, that is. It’s pretty easy. but it takes time. I have a Krups electric machine & it’s the best.

She is disgusting!

No, she is confused. We should pray for her. We should not look at her as a role model.
You are right. She needs prayer. I do think it is disgusting that she refers to the terrorists as “Freedom Fighters”.

That is honoring her son?

I hardly think the actions of Sheehan are a mirror of Catholic Teaching.
:bigyikes: Threatening the President, swearing like a sailor, etc. is Catholic teaching! Sheese! What Catholic school did you attend???

lol! Never mind…I see you said hardly…missed that part. 😃

How do you reconcile Bush’s actions with Catholic Teaching?

Good Catholics on both sides of the political spectrum can debate this.

However - you equated what Sheehan is doing and what the Magisterium teaches. I do not think Pope Benedict XV would approve of somebody calling the Commander -in-Chief; A murderer; a terrorist, and calling the people who killed her son “Freedom Fighters”.

By the way - Pope Benedict is against an immediate withdrawl of the troops from Iraq.

Ani Ibi:
I am appalled by this woman’s behaviour.
I am not happy with it. Even so, I am many times more appalled by organizations such as Code Pink that have ongoing weekly protests outside a military hospital near Washington D.C. where soldiers are being treated. In their demonstrations they include mock coffins. Disgraceful. Very very low behavior.

I beleive the Sheeniacs are summed up nicley in a verse from the executioners song in Gilbert and Sullivans “The Mikado”.

“People who praise
in enthusiastic tones
every century but the one they’re in
every country but their own.”

Fits perfectly their personality.

This thread is primarily about Sheehan. Bush’s mention in it is only secondary.

With the President back at his Crawford ranch, the anti-war protest right outside his ranch is getting a lot more media attention. ABC7 looks at who is financing the operation and who’s providing on-the-ground support.

The camp at Crawford is full of Cindy Sheehan supporters, people from all walks of life. But off to the side are a small group of professionals, skilled in politics and public relations who are marketing her message. Cindy Sheehan kneels before a cross with her son’s name on it, touches his picture, wipes her tears. It’s an outpouring of emotion that is part of a scheduled news event organized daily for the television radio and print reporters who crowd in to capture a mother’s grief.

…

Sheehan’s message hasn’t changed since she got here but the support staff interested in getting that message out to the world has grown considerably.

Organizers are set up in this house trailer. Their meetings are closed to reporters.

Leading the group is Fenton Communications employee Michele Mulkey, based in San Francisco. Fenton specializes in public relations for liberal non profits.

Their bills are being paid by True Majority, a non-profit set up by Ben Cohen, of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream fame.

I still feel sorry for Cindy. It is sad that she is posing for sad pictures near the cross. I can’t even imagine this.

I don’t agree with her and definitely I don’t agree with getting high powered media specialists to stage things. However, we need to pray for her some more.
